Last week Hayden turned 9 months old. It is hard to believe that she has now been breathing air longer than she was in Mommy's belly.
She is now eating solid foods 3 times per day and she sleeps through the night (about 12-13 hours) regularly so Mommy and Daddy are happy. However, she still has no new teeth, only 2 on the bottom.
But the big news is that she has reached a major milestone recently: she can stand all by herself. She will be holding onto something, then she'll let go and stand unsupported for 10- 20 seconds before falling back onto her butt or grabbing what she was holding onto before.
Now, people see something like this differently and it really depends on how you know this kid:
A Friend of the Parents: Cool. The kid is growing up.
A Grandparent or Aunt/Uncle: Wonderful, she is progressing nicely. I want to see her more so I don't miss this stuff.
Parents: OMG! OMG! OMG! MY KID IS THE MOST ADVANCED KID IN THE WORLD! EVERYBODY LISTEN AND LET ME TELL YOU ALL ABOUT MY KID!
For the over 35 crowd "OMG" means "Oh My God" (or "Oh My Gosh" if you live in Utah or some counties in Kentucky).
So anyway we were pretty excited.
In other news, we were visited by Grandma Coleen, Grandpa Mark, Grandma Sarah, and Grandpa Dave all at the same time so it was good for them to see Hayden again.

It's a good thing she's so cute and her cuteness can defuse my frustration of not seeing anything of her for a month and a half because I was getting a little antsy waiting for a blog update. I mean it's great having you guys on facebook and all but let's be honest, it's really all about Hayden. Anyway, she is getting more and more beautiful - just like her mommy! And OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG she's standing all on her own! What a big girl! Now if she wasn't your first your parental response would be "oh crap she's going to be walking soon." But hey she's your first so soak it all in. My first is about to be 5 - Oi! - I need to lie down!
Great blog and awesome pictures. She is getting so big. I LOVE the picture of her and Savannah standing together - very cool. She has all the signs of teething (rash on her cheeks, runny nose, a little grumpy) so perhaps those top ones will pop in any day. It changes their face forever, so enjoy her still no top teeth baby look. Congrats on the standing alone! That is impressive. V now can stand for an indefinite amount of time by himself, and we just keep wondering when those steps are going to come. Then we are in trouble. =-) Keep the updates and pictures coming. I love them so much. Big hugs to that beautiful girl fo yours!
What a good lookin' kid you're getting to be. Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks. See if you can't teach Mom and Dad a couple new tricks before then.
