A few nights ago we decided to take the plunge and move Hayden into a "big girl bed". She hasn't shown a real interest in getting out of her crib but we figured we shouldn't keep her in there until she was ten (even though it was tempting).
The crib that each of the girls have is a convertible bed. It starts as a crib, then moves to a toddler bed and then moves to a twin bed. To make the crib a toddler bed we simply had to remove the front panel. The bed is low to the ground so if she falls out of bed it's a short fall.
We talked to her about being a big girl and staying in her bed. We told her that she needs to stay in bed until we come in and get her and that if she needs us she just needs to call for us. The last three nights and her two weekend naps went really well. We know that she'll test the limit and her boundaries soon enough. But for now we're really enjoying being able to tuck her into bed, snuggle her, and tickle her back.
Yay for big girl beds!

Awesome! So happy the transition went well. I am thinking of taking the plunge too, although I have been saying that for over a year now and he still is in his crib...
So exciting!! Just wait until you wake up and find her in bed with you and ask yourself how and when did she get there!
