No Pressure Book Club

Almost two years ago I started the "No Pressure Book Club". I enlisted the help of my friend Jennifer and we held our first meeting at her house. We chose 12 books, one for each month, and then met monthly to discuss the books.

The club is called the "No Pressure Book Club" for a reason. It's not just about reading and discussing the books. It's about eating dessert, drinking wine, and getting out each month without husbands, boyfriends, or kiddos. We can catch up on each others day, celebrate promotions and pregnancies, and be there for each other when life gets hard. Don't get me wrong - we talk about the books too. There have been some really great books and even better discussions. But there's no pressure to read the book. It's more important that we all get together every month.

Several months ago we read The Help. It was a GREAT book and everyone really loved it. So for our meeting this month we decided to see the movie. We were lucky enough to get tickets to the advanced screening of the movie last Wednesday. We met for drinks beforehand and then saw the movie. The movie followed the book really well and had us all laughing and then in tears. It was wonderful.

Here's a picture of some of the lovely ladies in the NPBC. Thank you ladies - I love each of you and love the time that we get to spend together every month.
