Hooray for Ellie!

While we were in Utah last week Hayden taught Ellie to clap.

A Very Happy 4th

We decided not to take the kids out to see fireworks this year. The heat is dreadful and we were worried about going up to Prescott for fireworks like we did last year since tonight is technically a "school night".

So after dinner tonight we went out for ice cream. We went to Desert Ridge for Cold Stone and then sat out by the fountains. The kids hung out in the stroller while we ate ice cream and then we walked around a little bit. Hayden got cotton candy flavored ice cream and Ellie happily sucked on her pacifier.

We put the girls down when we got home and watched the PBS special from the White House. And I hate to admit it, but the air conditioning felt pretty great.

Jump!

Hayden is getting a lot more brave in the pool. Here she is jumping to us from the side of the pool.

Sugar High

This is what your daughter looks like when she eats a piece of cake the size of her head...

Laundry Day!

We had lots of laundry to catch up on this weekend and I was lucky to get some help from Ellie. She was totally into it. Hopefully she'll still enjoy it when she's 13. Hmmm...that might just be wishful thinking...

Fashion Show

Hayden has been dressing herself a lot lately. She has always been very independent but now she has more of an interest in what she wears. Sometimes we let her out of the house...sometimes not.

Here are some of our favorite outfits, so far. We'll keep updating the album as she continues to show us her designs.

Holy S#@&

A couple of weeks ago the four of us were eating dinner at the table.

Out of nowhere Hayden says "shit". Matt, trying to correct her says, "that's right, you're SITing".
She says again, "shit". Matt again says, "you're right - you're sitting".
Then she says, "No Dada, HOLY SHIT".

I had to turn my head so that she wouldn't see me laughing. Matt had much more self control than I did. He was able to quickly change the topic to something else and it was as if it didn't happen. Later that night though, he and I couldn't stop laughing about it.

Kids say the darnedest things...

More Pool Time

We were in the pool again last Sunday and got some fun shots of the girls. Before going in the pool I decided to put on a bandana to keep my hair dry-ish and Hayden wanted one too. She looked so stinkin' cute! Our little hippie!
