It was neat to see the three generations together in the kitchen plus the cookies were delicious!

Ghosts!

Hayden insisted in riding on a horse but chickened out when it was our turn. We're hoping next year is the year for her to ride. The girls both loved being outside but it was still a little warm for late October.
We rode the horse drawn flatbed and picked out a few pumpkins. All in all it was a successful morning out with the kiddos. Plus, Ellie looked so stinking cute in her Halloween dress from Aunt B and Uncle Phil. :)

Halloween at School
Hayden wore a skirt and her ears to school and then changed when she got there. Ellie wore a t-shirt that said 'Totally Wicked Cute' (but really, we already knew that) and also changed at school.
Both girls had a little room party and the ladies at school texted me pictures from their parties. I love the picture of Hayden with her two best girlfriends, Elianna and Brianna. So sweet.

New Tricks and Phrases
Anabelle:
- She can wave hello and goodbye
- She can blow kisses
- She can give kisses
- She can bite (oh wait...that's not a good trick to have learned)
- She says Dada like it's going out of style. Little stinker still doesn't want to say Mama when I'm encouraging her to say it but says it no problem when she wants more food.
- She has gotten really good with sign language to say "more" and "all done" when she's eating
- She is SUCH a cuddler - and I love it!! Hayden wasn't much of a cuddler when she was little but I just love that Ellie will lay her head on our shoulder or give you a good snuggle. Melts my heart every time.
- We think she's weeks away from walking. She can cruise around the furniture at lightning speed and she gets up and down so easily we're thinking it's only a matter of time until she takes off!
Hayden - Here are some of our favorite Hayden phrases:
- Alrighty!
- I'm all jacked up! (I kid you not - that actually came out of her mouth. She ran into the fence we have up between the kitchen and living room and hurt herself. She didn't cry but kind of rubbed it and then said - "I'm all jacked up!" Matt, Oma, and I were dying)
- That's my favorite...fill in the blank (cereal, sister, dress)
- I never get to...fill in the blank (open the yogurt, brush her teeth)
- Hayden just got her Minnie Mouse Halloween costume and was trying it on. She said, "Mommy I want a black nose like Minnie." I said, "okay, we can give you a black nose" and she said (rather nervously) , "will you have to take my nose off?!"
- Hayden is a championship staler at bedtime. The other night she said, "Mommy, feel right here. My ear is sooooooo soft!"
Where does she come up with this stuff?!
We have so much fun with our two girls - they both make us laugh (and drive us batty) every single day. How did we get so lucky?!

Hayden + Skeletons
A few weeks ago Oma was in town for a visit to celebrate Anabelle's first birthday. One afternoon Oma, Hayden and I went to Target to pick up a few things and Hayden had her first run in with a "scary" Halloween decoration.
Oma and Hayden were walking down the Halloween isle and Oma saw a skeleton. She pointed it out to Hayden and said that she was going to buy it and take it home to Opa. Hayden immediately became shy and scared of the skeleton and didn't want to have anything to do with it. Then Oma explained that not all skeletons were scary and that Hayden had her very own skeleton! She tapped on her knee and said, "there's your knee bone!" and pointed out other hard bones under her skin.
Hayden began to understand what Oma was saying and quickly became very fond of the skeleton. She wanted to hold him, and hug him, and play with him. What a change of heart! Now Hayden is a little obsessed with skeletons. We ended up back at Target to buy a skeleton for her and Nana also sent paper skeleton to Hayden in the mail. They are both proudly displayed in our house and Hayden loves to play with them, talk to them, and show them to us.

More Walks
This is a short little video of Ellie as we're leaving the house for a walk one night. My favorite part is her utter joy at the end of the video. Someone LOVES walks!!
A New Family Favorite?
In the past few months the Wolach family has become quite fond of sites like Groupon and Living Social. We've saved some money and also purchased packages and coupons to do stuff and try new places that we may not have otherwise tried.
Last week there was a deal for an Italian restaurant that's about 5 miles from our house. Matt snatched up the deal and insisted we go on Friday night to try it out. That day was a rough day at work for me and I was supposed to meet Matt and the girls at the restaurant at 5:45. At 5:50 I called Matt from work to let him know I'd be late.
Fast forward about 25 minutes when I joined my sweet family digging into pasta. We had a great dinner. The girls LOVE pasta and both ate so well and Matt and I really enjoyed our dinners as well. When we were done eating we checked out their fresh pastries and picked out a small box of desserts to take home. The girls loved looking at the pastries and I loved looking at them.
After a tough day at work (tough week, really) dinner out was the perfect way to end the week. Spending time with my three favorite people, eating wonderful food, and enjoying a glass of wine was just what this mama needed.
